Desserts are my weakness and I am sure many will agree with me. Give this 4 Ingredients Mango Fruit Salad a try to satisfy your sweet tooth along with a good serving of fruit.
The 4 ingredients theme is so interesting and it is allowing me to use the ingredients from my pantry and to think out of the box. Lately the Indian restaurants in our region have been serving a fruit salad which has mango pulp in it.
My boys love this dessert a lot as they are big fruit lovers and I wanted to recreate this at home. A few months back, one of my friends had served something similar when we went for dinner and since then I was even more tempted to try it. So I made this 4 Ingredients Fruit Salad with Mango Pulp.
I had Navarathri dinner planned at my house last week and that is when I finally made a huge batch of this delicious, creamy, and make-ahead dessert. Making ahead desserts are such a blessing when we are cooking for a crowd. That is one less thing to worry about on the day of the party.
I made this 4 Ingredients Fruit Salad with Mango Pulp late morning to serve for dinner. The texture of the fruits was intact and in fact, they taste much better when served cold.
I used the basic fruits that are in season. You could add as little or as many varieties of fruits. I stuck to apples, bananas, grapes, and strawberries. I recommend using fresh fruits and not canned mixed fruits just because the fresh ones are crunchier and the texture is great in the mango pulp.
Since I used everything canned, this Fruit Salad with Mango Pulp was ready in a jiffy. You could add as little or as much of the ingredients based on your liking.
You could make condensed milk at home if you don't have any in stock. Check out the recipe here. Also if you are not a mango pulp person and want to try a different kind of fruit salad, check out this Mexican flavored fruit salad, Bionico made with condensed milk and Greek yogurt.

Hi! Should the texture be more creamy or more light like mousse? How much should one whip the cream of from scratch?

The texture will be creamy. Whip it until it gets to soft peak consistency.

Looks very yummy! Can I use evaporated milk and sugar instead of condensed milk? Would appreciate your quick response.

Thanks a lot! Using evaporated milk will make the fruit salad very liquid. If you have to use evaporated milk, increase the whipped cream quantity.

Hi, I just made this and it's so yummy! Some feedback from friends was that it's good but a bit too sweet. I used Kesar mango pulp, not sure if that makes a difference. How can I cut the sweetness a bit?
Sandhya Ramakrishnan says
Thanks Daisy for trying it out. You can use unsweetened mango pulp or reduce the quantity of condensed milk to cut the sweetness.
Mariya says
I have had this at a friend's house and I loved it. My question is that can I use cool whip cream in the pulp? Or should I whip up the cream from heavy cream?plz reply
Sandhya Ramakrishnan says
Mariya, I would suggest that you use the whipped cream in the can. I am not a big fan of cool whip as it has lot of additives, but it will work.
