Diwali, the festival of light, is celebrated all over India in a very grand manner. There is no festival that does not revolve around food. Diwali especially is very special because it involves tons of sweets and savories that we share with friends and families.
In our house, tharattipaal is made every Diwali. As soon as we wake up and have oil bath, my mother gives a glob of Diwali marunthu/Lehiyam, followed by the sweet which would be tharattipaal. Click on the picture to learn how to make this.
